Last week, I was lucky enough to be on hand for the latest Architecture for Dogs exhibition opening at TOTO Gallery Ma in Tokyo. The opening was a huge success, with attendance from the press, VIPs, and hundreds of the public, within the first few days. The opening event included a short seminar at Design Hub in Tokyo Midtown, by project curator Kenya Hara, with several of the contributing architects including Atelier Wan, Torafu Architects, Sou Fujimoto, and Elien Deceuninck of MVRDV. Two exciting new aspects of this particular leg of the Architecture for Dogs journey are the 12 new variations on the original D-Tunnel design by Kenya Hara, and the “Design Your Own” feature on the TOTO Gallery Ma Exhibition Page on the project website, which displays sketches contributed by visitors to the gallery.
