Chandelier Tree

Chandelier Tree

Here’s a fascinating and inspiring video I spotted over on Jeff Hamada’s (interviewed) hugely popular art website Booooooom. The irony of visiting a Vancouver-based website to find out about a project going on in a neighborhood I drive past on a daily basis wasn’t wasted on me, and this is exactly why Booooooom is so crucial. Jeff selflessly spends time every day, spreading the good word on great art, just like this. The video is about Angeleno artist Adam Tenenbaum, and his quest to beautify a large tree in his Silver Lake front garden with vintage style chandeliers. It goes to show that art isn’t always about ego – sometimes it’s just about community, warmth, spirit, beauty, and creativity. And sometimes, like in this case, when you go with the flow and with what feels “right,” the project takes on a life of its own. The video also happens to be a Vimeo Staff Pick – always a great seal of approval for good content.
