Dismaland

Dismaland

Dismaland is a “Bemusement Park” (or, dystopian theme park outdoor art exhibition) created by infamous anonymous British street artist Banksy. The elusive artist has curated new work of his own, alongside that of 50 other contributing artists he selected for the project. According to the press, the artist has described the Weston-super-Mare seafront exhibition as a “family theme park unsuitable for small children.” Considering Banksy’s controversial rockstar status in the art game, you can imagine every press outlet worth its salt has covered this interesting art opening, including The Guardian, the NY Times, Design Boom, Arrested Motion, Booooooom, and many more. LA-based art luminary Roger Gastman said, “This is the show that art needs, that galleries and curators are going to be striving to stand up to.” The ambitious show will run for 5 weeks. If you are lucky enough to be in the UK, very reasonably priced tickets to the pop-up art exhibition are available via the Dismaland website. The following video seems to have been released by the artist himself:
