If You’re Not Familiar with Noname, Please do.

Chicago rapper/artist Noname dropped the heavily anticipated debut album, Room 25, today and might be on the shortlist for Album of the Year. On Room 25, Noname dives straight in with her signature tone and flow, but also reflective and introspective compared to Telefone, her 1st mixtape that debuted two years ago. Her growth and maturity is apparent for fans who’ve been following her since Telefone, with everyone talking about her viral line “My pussy wrote a thesis on colonialism”, on the first track Self, which is about her sexual awakening she had since dropping her first mixtape.

Her delivery and flow is as fluid as her voice and with features from fellow Chicago native Saba and St. Louis rapper Smino, we’re only witnessing the beginning. Room 25 can be streamed on all major platforms and click here to see her wonderful NPR Tiny Desk performance from April.
