Happy Friday! Between our Imprint Presents Koichi Suzuno talk in Los Angeles, and launching our IVL FastPitch video, Imprint has had a busy few weeks recently. I’ve caught up on some design blogs in the meantime, and this trailer for the new Takashi Murakami feature-film caught my attention. Murakami’s work has been shown in LA several times in the last few years, including at MOCA and Blum & Poe, so I’ve been able to admire his eye-catching approach to mashing up Japanese traditions and subcultures. Jellyfish Eyes seems to continue that exploration, as Murakami apparently nods at just about every popular genre of Japanese action movie imaginable. Of course the art looks amazing. I’m really looking forward to watching this.
