Make a friend… in a ball pit?

As we get older we all find it increasingly difficult to make new friends, let alone meet new people. Yeah, there are clubs (e.g. books, sports), organizations, meetups, etc, but it just seems like so much effort just to meet someone to chat with. It shouldn’t be that difficult. At all. We walk by hundreds of people a day, if not more, yet we all ignore one another because societal norms deem it weird (or maybe intrusive) to randomly strike up a conversation with a stranger.

Soul Pancake just documented a little social experiment of their own where they put a ball pit on a random sidewalk with a banner above it reading “Take a seat & Make a friend.” Surprise, surprise, it didn’t take long before random strangers were coming together in a ball pit of all places and conversing. To kick start it all, there were balls with questions on them such as “Share three things on your bucket list” or “Find one thing you have in common.”
