May 30, 2012 Window Washing
So the Windows 8 Release Preview has been leaked online! As a Mac user who hasn’t really touched Windows since Windows 95, I’m not excited. But finding out Paula Scher (Imprint Culture Lab 2009 Speaker) has taken on the redesign of the Windows 8 identity got me somewhat interested in Windows again… or at least what their identity will look like.
In a meeting with Microsoft early on in the development of the identity Scher is quoted asking, “Your name is Windows. Why are you a flag?” So in the redesign they’ve taken the logo back to Windows 1.0 days…
and made it a window again. So what do you think?
